After leaving Rollins, we all scattered chasing dreams, building careers, and starting families. Life was moving fast, and we all felt invincible. Then came the ultimate wake-up call.

 

Who could have predicted that one of our own would be hit with a Stage IV lymphoma diagnosis, staring down the fight of his life with a beautiful wife and two young kids counting on him?

But Brian did what he always does. He leaned into his athletikism, and made the adjustment. Thankfully, resolutely, he beat the absolute fuck out of cancer.

It was that exact crisis that pulled us all back into the same room. What started as a rally to support a brother in the trenches reconnected us in a way none of us could have anticipated.

 

Out of that battle, a legendary tradition was born.

Twenty years later, we know exactly how incredibly lucky we are to have these bonds. And as we celebrate this milestone, we know full well that Boyd is right there with us in spirit; 

wishing he could join the boys for a code blue, a chew, and the endless laughs that define The Riva Classic.
